Passover 5770 / 2010
HAVE THE RABBI SELL YOUR CHAMETZ
The Torah tells us that not only may a Jew not eat chametz (leavened food) on Passover, a Jew may not even own chametz during Passover. Traditionally, many people rid themselves of their chametz by selling any chametz that they own or that is in their possession to a non-Jew, for at least the duration of the Passover holiday.
It is extremely vital to take care of this obligation.
Please contact Rabbi Meyer directly at 303.220.7200, or complete and hand in the form below no later than Sunday, March 28th at 7 pm. He will gladly serve as your agent in selling your chametz to the appropriate party, as well as explain to you how this procedure works.

YOUR SEDER SHOULD BEGIN AT THE RIGHT TIME
The mitzvot of having a Seder, drinking the four cups of wine, telling the story of the Exodus from Egypt and eating Matzah are incumbent upon us on the first two nights of Pesach after nightfall. This year that translates into Monday night, March 29th and Tuesday night, March 30th. Therefore, one must take care to make kiddush at the first Seder no earlier than 8:02 pm.
It is important to note that on the second night of Pesach both candle lighting and kiddush need to be made after 8:03 pm in order to properly fulfill all the mitzvot of the Seder night. Make sure the kids take a nap in the afternoon, eat a substantial snack, and keep the Seder lively so they don’t fall asleep. This is a special night for the whole family. Let’s do it right. It is very appropriate to reward children for good singing and for keen insights and questions at the Seder table.
